How do I find the right pool builder?

Interview your prospective pool builder carefully.

  • What is his reputation in your area?
  • Do you know a friend or neighbor who has used the same pool builder with good results?
  • How long has your contractor been in business, and what is his experience?
  • Is your contractor licensed and fully insured?
  • How is his standing with your local Building Inspections Department and Better Business Bureau?
  • Are you comfortable that your property will be treated with dignity and respect?

At Carolina Pool Builders, Inc., customer service is the first and foremost concern for our entire staff. We believe our knowledge in construction, our experience in all types of challenges, and our effort to provide excellent service to all our customers is our number one priority.

I get quotes from some pool builders promising to build a pool at a very low price. Should I do this?

It is possible to build a pool for a very low price. But you should be aware that to build a very low-cost pool, equipment, structural elements, craftsmanship, and design are compromised. The old saying is still true: you get what you pay for.

At Carolina Pool Builders, Inc., we have learned that the cost difference between a fantastic job and a poor one does not have to be that great. You will want to have a pool in your backyard you can be proud of, that you can show off to your friends and family, not something you’ll wish you had not done.

Should I consider building a pool myself as a homeowner?

We don’t recommend it. Even experts encounter challenges during pool construction. Years of experience, knowledge, and training lead to wise decisions, which give high-quality finished products. At Carolina Pool Builders, Inc., we can offer swift construction time and coordinate with all crews, so you have no hassles, no headaches, and no cost overruns. Be assured that equipment suppliers and sub-contractors will charge you more than the actual value of the work. With a Carolina Pool Builders, Inc. swimming pool, you come out the winner with an outstanding, well-built, guaranteed project every time.

How is a swimming pool built?

Simply stated, a swimming pool construction takes place in a series of stages that begins with the design phase and ends with final instruction on how to use the pool. Between design & final instruction, as a minimum, pool construction includes the following construction phases:

  • Layout
  • Grading & Excavation
  • Installation of Wall Panels
  • Leveling and Staking of Panels
  • Pouring of Concrete Footer
  • Plumbing
  • Vermiculite Bottom Installation
  • Liner Installation

  • Backfilling & Grading
  • Decking
How long does it take to have a pool built?

At Carolina Pool Builders, Inc., we put all our resources into every project to get it completed in a timely manner. On average, pool construction takes 8 to 10 working days, barring any bad weather. We won’t leave you wondering why we didn’t show up to work on your pool one day. We are there every day until it’s completed.

Why do cost estimates vary when the pools seem to be the same?

The price of the pool is determined by much more than just the size and shape of the pool. The most important factors affecting the varying price ranges include:

  • Craftsmanship
  • Quality of Materials
  • Design
  • Customer Service
  • Time of Construction
  • Warranties

At Carolina Pool Builders, Inc., our estimates incorporate the highest quality materials, craftsmanship, design, and customer service. In addition, we always give you a firm, set price that will not have any surprises in the end. Remember: Good work is never cheap, and cheap work is never good.

How much work is involved in caring for a swimming pool?

With today’s conveniences, owning a swimming pool is easier than owning a car! Everyone will hear a horror story about a pool, but with today’s technology, pools are very easy to take care of. Pool chemical testing, automatic pool cleaners, and various sanitizing devices make your pool a pleasure to maintain. New pool owners receive a complete operations & technical manual at the completion of their new pool, and it takes away all the guesswork about how to operate their pool. Your only concern will be finding more time to enjoy your new pool.
